The character of Junebug was originally based on [[wikipedia:Loretta Lynn|Loretta Lynn]], a country singer-songwriter known for her song "Coal Miner's Daughter", and [[wikipedia:June Carter Cash|June Carter Cash]]." Although her final design contains significant changes, Junebug's extravagant blue gown remains a reference to Lynn. [[Jake Elliott|Jake]] has also stated that her original character later "took inspiration from June Carter Cashon new dimensions in the context of the rest of the story".
